One Year Ago…

Pardon a brief pause in Oiselle Totally Trials recaps and running talk while Bri & I celebrate a certain special little day …

“… You are lucky because you get to marry your best friend…”

One year down, many many more to go.  I know I say I hate the marathon, but this is one I can get behind.  XO

FINALLY!!!

After all of the USPS drama, our wedding photos from Full Bloom Photography are safe in my hands.  Just begging to be poured & preened over for hours on end.  So many details! Friends! Memories! Double fisting!

(please don’t make fun of my awkward smiles – my cheek muscles got tired)

An excessively large collection is available for your viewing pleasure at the Wedding – Photos page :)

Costa Rican Honeymoon : The Plan

HALLELUJAH SWEET LUJAH – Capital One came through with two new cards in our mailbox yesterday afternoon, appx 4 hours before leaving for the airport.  Customer Service win.

The wedding pictures are still lost though.  USPS please choke on your own vomit while I’m gone…

As long as everything goes to plan, we should be boarding our connecting flight in Guam right now.  Next stop : Costa Rica!

I thought I’d fill you in on what we’re going to be up to the next seven days.  In true OUaL fashion, there will be long, drawn out, picture-heavy recaps after – promise.

(we got a waterproof camera so no hurricane/rainforest storm is gonna take us down)

Honeymoon : Part Uno

(they speak Spanish in Costa Rica, you know)

We booked a red-eye out of LAX, and will be arriving in CR around 9:30am.  No wasted travel days here!  (we’ll pay for this in the form of jet lag, I’m sure)

Our first two nights will be spent in a TREEHOUSE – yes, an actual treehouse.

from Tree Houses Hotel’s website

We’ll be exploring the 70 acre grounds, hanging with the wildlife, dippin’ in the river, and rappelling down a waterfall.  No big.

Oh and don’t bother asking if I’ll bring you back a spider monkey or three-toed sloth – I checked and you can’t take those through customs.

Honeymoon : Part Dos

(the less rugged half)

Next we’ll travel to Nayara Hotel, Spa & Gardens – where we’ve got five full days of excitement planned.

White water rafting, volcano hike, zip lining the rain forest – mountain biking around Lake Arenal, a visit to the hot springs, and I even talked B into a couples massage.

Throw in the swim-up pool bar, wine bar, delicious food, and ummmm the outdoor shower – yeah I think we’ll stay quite busy.  ;)

I would also like to go on the record and say that I’m traveling with only a carry-on, and packed TWO pairs of shoes.  Trail shoes, and flip flops.  That’s it.  Relish the moment – this’ll never happen again in OUaL Travel History.
